Pastor Sung grew up in Huntington Beach, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Southern California Irvine, and a Master of Divinity, and a Masters of Theology at the Talbot School of Theology. The day after marrying his wife Hannah, they packed up their Toyota pickup truck and moved to Toronto, Canada in the winter of 1993. After serving for three years as a youth minister at Bethel Evangelical Church in Toronto, he felt called to start Rock Community Church in the summer of 1997. He continues to serve here today as senior pastor.

He is a simple man, who endeavors to live a simple life, with a simple mission, and that is to Know Christ and to make Him known. At the core of Pastor Sung’s ministry is the promise that all people, of all times, and all backgrounds can find hope, and purpose, and life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor Sung and Hannah have been married for 30 years, and together they have two young adult daughters, Autumn and Emma.
